Carville ‘doubling down’ on prediction Harris will win

Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville reiterated his prediction Monday that Vice President Harris will triumph over former President Trump in the election , now just two weeks away.

“I think that Harris is going to win,” Carville said Monday during an appearance on MSNBC’s ‘The Beat” with host Ari Melber.

“Let me just say that out front. I’m doubling down on that,” the strategist added, but cautioned that “I could be wrong.”

Carville, the architect of former President Clinton’s successful 1992 campaign, also criticized Trump for his rhetoric on the campaign trail and argued that the Constitution is on the ballot.

His remarks come as the polls showcase a toss-up race between the two party nominees.

Carville, back in late September, shared that he had a “feeling” that Harris would ultimately prevail in the race, but declined to make an official prediction at the time.

“I don’t like to predict elections. I would just say, this just doesn’t feel like a race that Harris is gonna lose,” Carville said last month in an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper.

“But that’s just a feeling,” he said. “That’s just a feeling.”

Earlier this month, he told CNN’s Michael Smerconish that the 2024 White House election is a “long way from decided. While he acknowledged that the vice president was slightly ahead, he said the ultimate winner will be the one who secures most of the critical battleground states.

“I think it will break at the end. I think someone will carry swing states 5-2 or 6-1,” Carville said. “Whoever does that will do well in the House and do well in the Senate. But this thing is a long way from decided.”

Harris has a 1.2 percent lead over Trump, 49 percent to 47.8 percent, according to the latest aggregate of polls from The Hill/Decision Desk HQ.

Celebrities aren’t gods; they’re humans. After Liam Payne’s tragic death, can we accept them as flesh and blood? | Mark Borkowski

As a showbiz publicist, I know about the Faustian pact between stars and the public. The benefits are clear, but the costs are truly steep

As the worldwide tributes continue , the tragic death of Liam Payne at the cruel age of just 31 has shaken the foundations of how we perceive celebrity and fame. As a publicist and strategist who has worked with many famous people, I know something about this. They are just like us – but they are different.

Fame is as seductive as it is destructive. It offers an irresistible promise: transcendence from the mundane, and the opportunity to be more than just another face in the crowd. But it also demands a sacrifice: once your head is above the parapet of anonymity, it’s very rare to be able to submerge back into the crowd on your own terms. And most insiders know this, or at least they think they do.
