Mandy Moore, Billy Crystal among celebrities who lost homes in Los Angeles wildfires

Wildfires raging across parts of Los Angeles have destroyed several celebrities’ homes, including actors Mandy Moore and Billy Crystal.

More than 1,000 structures have burned from the Pacific Palisades fire, leveling entire neighborhoods due to the uncontained flames fueled by hurricane-force winds.

Anywhere from 200 and 500 structures have been damaged or destroyed from the Eaton fire on the other side of town.

A new blaze, dubbed the Sunset fire, broke out in the Hollywood Hills late Wednesday.

At least 5 deaths have been confirmed from the fires. Mandatory evacuations have been underway for thousands of residents and many more are warned they should be prepared to leave their homes.

In a statement released Wednesday, reported by The Associated Press , Crystal and his wife Janice said their home of 45 years in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood was lost.

“Janice and I lived in our home since 1979. We raised our children and grandchildren here. Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can’t be taken away,” Crystal said. “We are heartbroken of course but with the love of our children and friends we will get through this.”

Crystal said they were praying for the safety of the firefighters and first responders.

Moore shared videos online to say she was grateful that her family and pets were able to safely flee the fires before it was too late. She lost her home in the Altadena neighborhood near Pasadena.

“Honestly, I’m in shock and feeling numb for all so many have lost, including my family. My children’s school is gone. Our favorite restaurants, leveled,” she wrote on Instagram.

Moore said her community is broken but they will rebuild. She shared love to the community and those on the front lines.

Cary Elwes, the star from “A Princess Bride,” said he and his family are safe but their home was lost in the fire.

“Our hearts go out to all the families impacted by this tragic event and we also wish to extend our gratitude to all the firefighters, first responders and law enforcement who worked so tirelessly through the night and are still at it,” he wrote on Instagram.

Paris Hilton shared an ABC News clip that she said showed her burnt home.

“Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience,” she wrote online.

Hilton said she is working with her team to find nonprofit organizations to support the community in the aftermath.

“We’re committed to offering help as soon as possible and making a meaningful difference for those who need it most,” she said.

Other celebrities who have lost homes in the area include Adam Sandler, Ben Affleck, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, the AP reported.

James Woods shared a message on X that it “tests your soul” to lose “everything at once.”

Variety reported that married couple Adam Brody and Leighton Meester’s home burned down, as did Anna Faris’s and Diane Warren’s.
